My Patime!

I was unique in a way that I’ll always remember. So close to the heart, and one that I’d do again but bigger and better – living off the ocean with surfing and fishing. I loved it: sun, sand, blue skies, riding the nature of the earth. It was a thrill and one that would mesmerize you, knowing you’re sitting on a board out in the ocean, just you and Mother Nature. It was exciting.

Surfed all over Australia for five years. Just chased the surf from Western Australia through South Australia to the top of Queensland by working in hotels at night and surfing during the day at every bay. Loved it. One year, I lived at a very remote place called Cactus on the outskirts of a little town called Penong, which was a desert-like spot at the end of the great Australian Bight in South Australia.

It truly was a very unique place. In a year, I reckon we saw about 100 people. Haha! But we surfed one of the best spots in Australia for a year. Lol, life.

My Hobby!

As I play JJ Cale in the background right at this moment of writing, one of my hobbies is collecting music from all over the world: blues, rock, heavy rock, classical, alternative, a bit of country (notice I said a bit), soul, hip-hop, and more. I have 36 thousand songs on a computer dedicated solely to music, but I have 10 thousand on this one and again on my phone, and five thousand on my iPad, laptop, notebook, so wherever I go, I can plug in my airpods or crank up the Bluetooth speakers at home to listen to whatever matches my thoughts and feelings at the time.

With Music Comes a World of Hobbies!

Listening to music can enhance various aspects of life, such as cooking. The soothing background melodies elevate the culinary experience, allowing one to immerse themselves in the creative process. Similarly, fishing accompanied by music creates a serene atmosphere, where one can appreciate the vastness of the ocean while patiently awaiting a bite. Driving becomes even more enjoyable as I start the car, connect to the Bluetooth, and indulge in the harmonious sounds resonating from the exceptional speakers. Whether it’s writing blogs, penning a book, or simply unwinding, music serves as the perfect backdrop. Even mundane activities like walking the dog or hosting a barbecue with friends become more vibrant and engaging with the right musical ambiance. And lastly, it’s no secret that music can set the mood in intimate moments, bringing an added layer of pleasure.

One Off Passion!

Photography – There was a day when I photographed major sports throughout Australia and had the opportunity to be involved with some sporting legends of their time in all sports. But then a so-called friend took my full set of camera bodies and lenses worth fifty thousand dollars for an ounce of heroin. I didn’t touch a camera for years, but the urge came back. Now, I travel around Western Australia with work and capture nature at its best – from oceans, sunsets, and sunrises, to the land. My airpods are on as I search for the best angle and wait for the right shot. I also enjoy taking photos of beautiful women in their natural state, but what I truly love is a camera creating a unique one-second capture of art. It’s something I intend to do as I gradually build up my camera stock, traveling and capturing the most exquisite moments Mother Nature has to offer with just a blink of the shutter. We often don’t realize that as we live and go through life, we develop many hobbies, and photography can be a wonderful pastime as well.
