If there was any place that I love going to for a visit, it would be two of them: Denmark, down south of Perth, and the Pilbara, north of Perth. Both are so very different but unique and stunning in what they have to offer.
Denmark – South Of Perth.
Denmark is a small coastal town, about a five-hour drive south of the city. It has some of the most stunning coastlines to see, and the countryside surrounding it is green and lush throughout most of the year. The thick bush and mesmerizing landscapes make it a memorable experience to drive or walk through.
The way the town is designed and the main road goes, the locals call it the speed hump as you drive through the main town, which is on the left side of the drive. It’s a small community but offers great stores for shopping. On the outskirts, it’s renowned for the vineyards that produce wine known worldwide, the Alpaca farm, the Honey farm, and the Jarrah timber that produces some stunning furniture. I’d say one of the biggest attractions is Greens Pool, Parry Beach, Alpaca Farm, The Honey Farm and some of the best wineryies in the world folled by some amazing fishing locations. If there was a downside, I would say be prepared for the coldness it offers most of the year. Its weather is with good clear skies but a temperature of around 12 to 15 degrees Celsius most days and very cold nights. That’s why the wood suppliers are doing okay at $700 a ton, as you rely on the open fire in the house which gives such a beautiful atmosphere and calmness. And through Denmark being on the southern tip of Australia towards the Antarctic hemisphere, it produces massive swells through the ocean and cold air at most times. All in all, it’s one of the most beautiful and tranquil spots in Western Australia, with the locals happy-go-lucky, friendly based community to go to love Denmark.

The Pilbara.
The Pilbara is around a two-day drive if you take it easy. I believe that doing the trip on your way up north to other destinations is worth looking at, with the harsh and rugged landscapes and many gorges it has to offer. It also showcases the history and unique culture of Australia. It’s a place with an environment not to take lightly as it can be unbelievably hot and humid, but it showcases some of the best landscapes you will ever see that mesmerize you, tranquility that will make you think, and the silence of beauty to be enjoyed.
I was lucky enough to work up there for five years, and every day amazed me with its blue skies and temperatures that would make you appreciate the coolness of life with an air conditioner in your vehicle. Suddenly, throughout the day, you would witness the most spectacular thunderstorms, accompanied by a mesmerizing lightning show that left you in awe of nature’s beauty. These storms are often followed by a downpour that can flood many towns and cause some havoc. However, within an hour, the land dries up, leaving you questioning if it rained at all just a minute ago. The environment is truly spectacular and something that everyone should witness at least once in their lifetime.
The gorges are breathtaking and worth the walk or climb. Just natural clean water with brilliant colors and surroundings are worth the walk or climb. Yes, the Pilbara is worth visiting and being a part of. There is plenty of accommodation up there, but just remember it’s an environment that makes you plan your trip and watch the weather, as the land and its beauty can also be dangerous if you’re not prepared for it. Nonetheless, the stunning pure beauty of the sunsets and sunrises on display is truly unforgettable.
