How Do I Relax…

I would say everyone has their own unique way of relaxing. For me, as I get a bit older and wiser, I look at different ways but ones that I’ll enjoy.

I’m learning to meditate using breathing techniques and shutting down the mind to relax the body from daily stress. If I can get the breathing right, it does provide a moment of relaxation. People say going to the gym is the way to go. Hmm, for me, those days are gone. It’s not that I feel too old for it. I’m actually looking at learning to stretch my body for better movement as I get older. I’ve noticed that my body stiffens up a bit more than usual. With that, I take the dog for a walk or just myself. I put my earphones in and off I go. It’s funny, I have to admit, the dog takes me for a walk. Being built like a tank and weighing 80 kilos, he keeps the walk at a good pace. I love it.

I find sitting on the beach is a great way to relax, and the soothing of fresh air to the lungs is a two-in-one way of relaxing the body and mind. I enjoy going to the movies, especially by myself. I find it good to just sit in the layback chair and watch a good movie. Blogging is a good way to keep the mind active and maintain the art of thinking, but it also helps me relax a bit, which is good. One thing I do enjoy is listening to good music. I collect albums and have been doing so for many years, of all sorts of music. Especially in the car, not to relax as I drive, but just to make the drive a bit more comfortable with the traffic and a bit less stressed.

Relaxation is not a luxury, but a necessity for a balanced and fulfilling life.

We all find different ways of relaxing, and we discover that there are methods that work for what we are seeking in life. Whichever way helps you, it is always beneficial to dedicate a few hours each week to relaxation. This not only rejuvenates the mind and body but also enables us to reach new levels each day of the week.
