Who do we blame for the out of reach costs of living today? Many people point fingers at the ongoing war in the Middle East, claiming that it has profound effects on our economy and resources. However, the more critical issue lies closer to home. It is our government that has allowed the situation to spiral out of control, neglecting to implement effective policies that could mitigate these rising costs. Instead of addressing the root causes, they often focus on short-term solutions that fail to provide real relief for struggling families and individuals. As prices continue to escalate year after year, it becomes increasingly clear that accountability starts with those in power who are responsible for shaping our financial landscape.

I don’t like to point the finger, but fuel companies are worse than Ned Kelly. How do you justify raising the price when we still have two weeks’ worth of fuel in stock? It seems unjust to allow such practices, especially when the government turns a blind eye to this ongoing issue. In Perth at the moment, we are paying between $2.00 and $2.20 a litre, with expectations of further increases next week. Meanwhile, in the Eastern states, prices have soared to $2.50 a litre, and in the Northern Territory, we are facing an astounding $4.00 a litre, with no signs of relief on the horizon.
It’s disheartening to see how consumers are left to bear the brunt of these rising costs, while it appears that those in power refuse to intervene or provide any semblance of regulation. As we navigate our daily lives, the burden of these escalating fuel prices impacts not only our wallets but also the cost of living across the board, creating a ripple effect that affects every Australian citizen.
The Rising Of Fuel = Rise Of Living.
It’s inevitable that with soaring prices in fuel, the prices of living—encompassing everything from vegetables to groceries, meat, dairy, and household products—even the essential toilet paper is skyrocketing! Lol, it costs a fortune to wipe your bottom Haha. This trend of rising prices can be attributed to a variety of factors, including increased transportation costs, supply chain disruptions, and inflation. People are scrambling to make ends meet as their budgets get tighter, leading to a widespread feeling of frustration and uncertainty among consumers. As we navigate this challenging landscape, it becomes increasingly important to find ways to adapt our spending habits and seek out deals, all while wondering when this financial strain will ease and if it will ever return to normal.

For us as a Family.
My daughter and I had a chat the other day, as we often do when we need to work things out and understand each other’s perspectives. Now, we are both pretty level-headed individuals, capable of seeing the reality of our situation clearly. We can see that the chance of things letting up or reaching a point where we are genuinely doing okay is a fair distance away. Let’s be honest—it feels like it’s a long, long way off, almost as far as a trip around the world, filled with adventures yet to come. Haha! During our talk, we explored various possibilities and discussed our hopes for the future, sharing laughter and moments of reflection as we navigated through our feelings and concerns. We reassured each other that, in time, things will get better, and with patience and perseverance, we will arrive at the destination of peace and happiness we both long for.
So until that happens, the belt is getting tighter. Lol, any tighter and I won’t be able to breathe; lucky I got a bigger belt the other day. Lol, as I look out the window and notice my little mate, the Cane Corso, struggling with the heat that compounds Perth at the moment, I can’t help but feel a sense of concern for him. It’s not just the rising temperatures that weigh heavily on my mind; we are a long way off this getting better, and it’s going to take some time just to even out. Meanwhile, we have to weather the continuous rises, whether it’s in the cost of living or the heatwave, and help each other and the kids get through this tough period. It’s in these moments of hardship that communities often come together in unexpected ways, finding strength in solidarity. One thing it might have created, though, is the best diet I’ve ever seen – it’s called “can’t afford to eat,” lol.
All jokes aside, I hope for everyone around the world that life improves in so many ways, especially in the countries on the brink of war, as it’s heartbreaking to see so much suffering and turmoil. As we navigate these challenges, let’s hold on to hope, support one another, and cherish those small moments of joy and relief we find in our everyday lives.
Journey Through Life.
