Who Do You Feel You Are?

Wow, that was an interesting question I was asked today, and I couldn’t help but wonder where it had come from. It reminded me of the old story when I went to see a psychologist; it was a situation initiated by work, who requested that I seek help. As usual, you know the routine—I wasn’t going to reveal every single detail of my life to him. Instead, I chose to share only what was necessary, glossing over the deeper issues. Sure enough, after a few sessions of the standard back-and-forth dialogue, you know how it goes—Blah Blah Haha. It’s funny how these encounters can lead to unexpected insights, even when I didn’t plan to be fully open.

Have You Ever Asked Yourself the question? Who Are You?

It’s interesting to see how the response to a simple question like “how are you?” can vary significantly based on numerous factors, including cultural background, personal experiences, and the context in which the inquiry is made. Different individuals might respond with a brief “I’m fine,” while others might choose to elaborate on their feelings or circumstances, sharing joys or challenges. This diverse array of responses reveals not just the individual’s emotional state at that moment, but also their willingness to engage in deeper conversations and the importance of human connection. In essence, such a seemingly innocuous question can open the door to profound insights into someone’s life and well-being.

I Believe I’m A Good Person!

If I was honest, when I was younger, I was pretty wild and loved to party; you could say I embodied the classic mantra of sex, drugs, and rock & roll. My days were filled with loud music and good times, often accompanied by the odd fight just to prove my manhood, Lol. However, even amidst all that chaos, I made a point never to break into houses or cars, nor did I ever steal or hurt anyone with weapons. I was just a kid growing up in a time where the lifestyle seemed to flow as naturally as riding a wave. I had a profound love for surfing, which defined many of my adolescent adventures. I took many days off to embrace the ocean when the surf was up, spending hours riding the waves and feeling the exhilaration of being one with nature. The thrill of the surf was the ultimate high for me, a true escape from the everyday grind.

You Seem To Understand Yourself As We Get Older.

Lets think about it; as most would say, there is a significant point to it. As we get older and mature, we come to understand the profound meaning of growing into a good human being. For me, it was about bringing the kids up on my own, navigating the complexities of parenthood while experiencing the harsh realities of life, such as death. Saying goodbye to friends at an early age taught me the value of connection and the importance of cherishing each moment. Watching and learning from my children as they grow has been a truly enlightening experience; they teach me joy and resilience every single day. Enjoying the company of older people has provided me with wisdom and perspective, as their stories and experiences shape my understanding of the world.

Travelling around and meeting people from different cultures and of all ages has enriched my life in countless ways, allowing me to appreciate our shared humanity. Through these encounters, I have learned invaluable life lessons that we draw on as we grow, shaping our character and beliefs. I believe I have a good heart; I sincerely respect individuals of all ages and their unique ways of life. Moreover, I strive to look at most things in life with a positive outlook and a good attitude, believing that optimism can illuminate even the darkest of times. This journey of growth and self-discovery continually reinforces my commitment to being a better person and to making a positive impact wherever I can.
