If I were to describe something positive, a family member would have done for me.

The grandkids bring so much joy and happiness into our lives. Their laughter fills the air with warmth, and their respect and kindness shine through in everything they do. Seeing them grow into such wonderful human beings is truly a blessing. Their genuine kindness and compassion towards others are a testament to the values they’ve been raised with. It’s heartwarming to witness their empathy and understanding towards others, and it’s a constant reminder of the beauty of innocence and genuine goodness.

If I were to say I’m going through some issues with my health, it would be an understatement in so many ways, but Bubs, as I call Ava, is so concerned that Pop is struggling. Every day, she asks, “Are you okay, pop? Will you get better, pop?” She follows with the most beautiful smile and the biggest cuddle. It melts me but also makes me smile with happiness. Ava’s love and care bring so much warmth and joy to my heart in the face of my health struggles. Her simple yet profound gestures remind me of the importance of love and human connection, filling my days with hope and light.“`

Kado is a remarkable young man with admirable maturity at the age of thirteen. He possesses a natural grace and kindness, often greeting me with a warm smile and asking if he can do anything for me. His genuine concern and caring nature are genuinely touching. Every evening, he enters my room, sits on the bed, and talks about his day and other subjects. His ability to hold thoughtful conversations and genuine interest in my well-being is beyond his years. As he finishes talking, he always leaves with a simple yet powerful “Love ya, pop” and a gentle reminder to call out if I need anything. It’s evident that Kado is developing into a wonderful person, and I can’t wait to see the remarkable individual he becomes in the years to come.

One is nearly four years old, and one genuinely going into his teens, turning fourteen this year. Still, both have personalities and stigmas, carry respect for their oldest, and have great attitudes for their ages, and the minds and hearts of kids are something that bring a lot of positives into our lives, I’m so proud to be their Pop.

Being a parent is a great responsibility, especially when your children have unique and beautiful personalities. It’s fantastic to see the differences between a four-year-old and a teenager on the cusp of turning fourteen, yet both bringing positivity and joy into my life. Their respect for each other and their older sibling is heartwarming, and their youthful minds and pure hearts bring so much light into the family. Embracing their attitudes and navigating each age’s challenges and delights is truly a rewarding experience. My pride in being their Pop shines through, and it’s clear that I’m genuinely fortunate to have them through my life’s journey.
