The Passionate Pursuit Of Music!

I’m sitting out the back with my mate Tummer, the dog. Lol having a Carlton Cold with a switch to Baileys and Ice.

Mmm, I love it straight, don’t worry about the milk. Anyway, it’s New Year’s Eve and I’m in a trance with a great sound system, listening to my music—a collection of 26 thousand songs from blues, rock, alternative, some country, jazz, a bit of opera, soul, hip hop, and Eminem, just to name a few that I like to listen to. Whatever the mood my body desires. Tonight, it’s shuffle night. Lol.

I have always had a passion for music ever since I was a little guy. I remember my first record player with a built-in speaker. If I remember rightly, it had two speeds: 35 and 72, I think. It was something I had for a few years and wore out a lot of needles playing it every moment I had. My mum and dad had a time limit on it during the week, from 4pm to 6pm, and on weekends an hour extra. No way it was played after 6pm, as Dad had his favourite shows – the news and then the news. Haha, life was exciting.

Throughout the years, I collected albums. Being the cool guy, a few of my mates’ older brothers were in bands and put me into some great musicians. The early collection was blues, with Joe Cocker, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Sabbath, and a few more that were the cool of the seventies and eighties. They were the decades of music that changed the world with fashion, defining the groups you associated with. I was a surfie, and then there were the suedeheads, skinheads, rockers, and bikers. Let’s not forget the dudes; they were just cool in a different way.

Joy & Emotional Expression Of Music.

Music has the power to evoke a wide range of emotions that can be a powerful tool for emotional expression. You can find solace in sad melodies or experience pure joy through uplifting tunes. Music can bring back memories of great times, be a good background for dining, or enhance moments with friends around for a few beverages by an open fire. Whatever your joy of music is, it’s there for many things that we can bring into our lives.

We use music for many things in life.

Therapeutic benefits which can be used for forms of therapy. I use it sometimes when I have depression. It helps me focus on the good things I have with looking at my goals, as I’m in a better place, mindset-wise. By simply listening to music that resonates with you, the emotional connection to music can uplift your spirits and bring happiness and joy to your lives.

I use it when writing a post or when I am studying. It is never off when driving. I can use it to fall asleep. If I was at a game of local football, I just put the pods in and sit back. The same when I go to the beach. Walks with my mate are good for getting into a rhythm, lol a slow one at that. When I coached at the gym, we used background music for different training programs. I don’t mind if at home on my own. Like the last few days, have the system up, cruising around, or cooking. It can be used for so many things with different concepts of your enjoyment of music.

If there was one thing in the world the majority love and use, it is music. It is deeply intertwined with cultural identity. It serves as a means of expressing and preserving cultural traditions, values, and stories that are told to upcoming generations. Different cultures can showcase their unique styles, rhythms, instruments, and dance forms, celebrating diversity and promoting cultural exchange.

Music Is To The Soul What Words Are To The Mind.
