The Son-In-Law’s Journey towards Employment
If I were to say I’m jealous, I’m far from it. But I am amazed at how, for some people, things just fall into their laps without even trying. Or even if they messed up, it still somehow worked out in their favor.
See my son-in-law and not knocking him at all as he is a great human being, especially when it comes to my daughter and the kids. However, he has made some big errors in life through wrong judgment or not thinking things out. But for some reason, he seems to fall into a better position with his thoughts or judgment on the position he is working at.
I have seen him lose some great opportunities through his work of employment and seen him go a step higher in the position of employment, advancing to supervisor or leading hand, which means a pay increase and better benefits with the position. I always congratulate him with a smile and quietly think, “How did that happen?” But I’m glad for him and his little family.
He’s Done It Again.
Tex worked hard and has done so for the last 3 months in Civil Construction. They could see a huge potential in him and promoted him to supervisor in such a short time, which was so exciting! I was overjoyed with the promotion and where he was going with such a great and big company. But my daughter and he were struggling being away from each other for fourteen days, and the kids were missing their dad, which is very understandable as it’s not easy working away from family.
My daughter and Tex have discussed it over the last few weeks. So, through this discussion, he had picked another position as a supervisor with an asphalt company on roads. He rang today to let the other company know that he would be leaving after this swing. However, to his big disappointment, the CEO and owner rang him back within half an hour and said, “You’re not leaving because I’m offering you a position in the city with us – a supervisor of our projects. The pay will be the same, and you won’t have a drop in wages. You’ll also receive benefits such as a car, fuel, phone, and a 9-day fortnight, which means every second weekend, you’ll have three days off.”
He has scored again, but in a big way. Tex has not lost his three-figure wage and has picked up more benefits working in the city. Being home every night with the family, LOL! What can I say but give him a hug and congratulate him. It just happened again. Good on you, buddy! I’m really happy for Toots, the kids, and Tex. They can still go forward in a big way and grow together in doing so. He doesn’t miss out on anything with the family and gains a position that can help them still move forward in life. He has the best lap I’ve ever seen, and I’m not jealous but so happy as he’s a great person and son-in-law.
